You can complete an internship at Volkswagen in a range of different areas and gain valuable experience. We offer both voluntary internships and mandatory internships, all of course with intensive specialist support, a salary and holiday leave.

  • Target group: Students in/between an active university or technical college degree
  • Start: The call for applications and start of internships take place all year round
  • Duration: The internship generally takes between 2 and 6 months with the possibility of an extension

Requirements - what you need

Voluntary internship during studies:

  • You are currently enrolled in an active, ongoing course of study (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Diploma etc.)
  • Your grade average is equal to or better than 2.4
  • You have not already completed a voluntary internship or student staff programme at Volkswagen
  • You have a work permit for a non-EU citizen

Mandatory internship during studies:

  • You are currently enrolled in an active, ongoing course of study
  • Your grade average is equal to or better than 2.4
  • You can produce official proof from your university of a mandatory internship which is yet to be undertaken (the curriculum alone is not sufficient)
  • You have a work permit for a non-EU citizen

Gap Year

Would you like to do an internship in between completing your Bachelor’s degree and starting your Master’s? No problem. However, because you are generally not enrolled at a university during this time, which would otherwise be a requirement for an internship with us, please enclose a letter of intent/confirmation that you intend to commence a Master’s.

Most internship places at present are offered in Wolfsburg, Hannover and Kassel. Please note that only those locations that are currently advertising internships are shown in the filter selection in the job portal.
