We met Carlos, an intern SID Hannover at Volkswagen. In our interview, he tells us why he chose the internship at Volkswagen, what exciting topics he deals with every day and what the work with his other colleagues looks like.

What brought you to Volkswagen?
I am part of a programme from Volkswagen Mexico, called “Mexican Students in Germany”, which is a year and a half programme that is divided into one semester of internship at Volkswagen Mexico, one semester as an exchange student in Germany to finish my bachelor’s degree and one semester as an intern at Volkswagen AG.
We focus on user-centricity and agile development which helps us rethinking new and existing challenges. Also, SID is proud of the working model, which is a new way of working which is brought into the Volkswagen company to make it a software driven company.CarlosIntern SID Hannover at Volkswagen
What is the goal of your internship at Volkswagen Germany?
During my internship in Mexico I worked with a starting team called “Technology Park” that aims to improve and promote innovation and technological solutions in Mexico. I am here to learn how a SDC works in general as well as how a product manager develops its role inside a team and how they relate to the other roles, so that in the future I can perform this role when we start developing software in Mexico.
What is challenging about your job and what is so exciting about it?
The challenging part of my job so far is to be able to connect with as many people as possible so that I can gather all the information about what they do, how they do it and why, and try to learn about it as much as I can.
What is your team proud of?
SID:H (all SIDs actually) is proud to contribute to the digital transformation of the whole Volkswagen Group with its sustainable software products. We focus on user-centricity and agile development which helps us rethinking new and existing challenges.
