This is how the online application process works.

Or put another way: it couldn’t be simpler.

When you apply to us online, you can be assured that your details and documents will arrive directly where they should in the fastest way possible. It’s really that quick and easy. You can upload your application to us in just five steps. Or just four steps if you are applying for a vocational training position.

You can also apply when on the move.

Simply submit your application via smartphone or tablet.

You are on the train, at the bus stop or are waiting to fly off on holiday. You can still submit your application to us, create an applicant profile or edit your existing one.

  • All job offers can be applied for via a tablet computer,
  • while most can also be applied for on your smartphone. You will recognise these jobs by the “Apply now!” button. Please note that the application for training places or the work-study degree programme is only possible via computers and tablets at present.

You should include these attachments with your application.

The more descriptive your application, the better we will be able to assign and assess your skills. Moreover, certain documents are required for some applications. You will find out which ones these are below.

Job agent.

You do not need to be a model to have a private agent. Just use ours.

If you do not find the right job offer for you in our careers section, you can configure our online job agent to tell you as soon as an appropriate job is advertised. It couldn't be easier - or quicker.

Option 1:
Go to our careers section and select your desired search criteria, for example location, functional area or career level. Then enable the "Job Agent", which you will find right at the bottom of the careers section.

Option 2:
Select a specific job advertisement you are interested in, then click the box "Tell me about similar jobs" in it.

In both cases you will then be prompted to register with your profile data. If you do not have an applicant profile with us, you can register for one now. The job agent will notify you in the future as soon as a job matching your search criteria is advertised. Incidentally, you can configure up to five different job agents in parallel.
If you no longer need your job agent, you can delete it at any time on your profile page.

The online test when applying for a training place.

To get to know you better, all vocational training applicants receive an invitation to take an online aptitude test after they have submitted their first online application. This usually takes approx. 30 to 45 minutes and can be taken on any PC connected to the Internet. You will receive the invitation by email around 24 hours after you submit your application. The invitation contains your access password, which remains valid for three weeks.

For reasons of fairness to other candidates, it is not possible to repeat online tests once they have been started. Please ensure that you are not disturbed during the online test and that you have a stable Internet connection. Note also that every applicant may only take the test once. This also applies if you receive another invitation to an online test for whatever reason. If in doubt, please contact the applicant hotline.

There is no online test when applying for the dual-study programme or other entry levels.

Information about getting to know you.

If we are won over by your application, we would like to get to know you better personally and also give you the opportunity to find out more about the position and us. At Volkswagen, we use interviews locally for this purpose or video interviews over the Internet as well as our recruitment days (Assessment Centre) for places on our trainee programme or for experienced professionals.

Besprechungsraum

Nice to meet you.

Your interview with us.

We typically invite you to come to us. We consult with you first to arrange a suitable date. You then receive an invitation in the form of an online appointment from the department or the responsible personnel officer. This invitation also contains the location of the interview and generally a description of how to get there. Please register with the staff at the security checkpoint on the day of the interview. You will usually have been preregistered by the department, but we would like to ask you to print the invitation you received again and present it.

This is what happens:

Your conversation partners are from the respective department and Human Resources. Reference is made during the conversation to special assessment criteria, starting with you introducing yourself by describing your career. You have 3 to 5 minutes to do this. Biographical-related questions follow, for example in relation to successes/failures and how you dealt with these. You will frequently be asked for specific examples of how you reacted so we can get an insight into your decision-making ability. We would also like to know a little about your professional goals. Depending on the department and future role, criteria-based questions are then asked, for example on the topic of team work.

The interview.

Your interview over the internet.

In some cases, a video interview is preferred to an on-site meeting, for example if your travel time would be disproportionately long. Your conversation partner can therefore offer you the option of holding the interview conveniently over the Internet, in other words a video interview.  You will receive an invitation with appointment via email, which will contain a special link. Use this link to load a web application into your Internet browser, which you can use to dial in automatically. We do no record the video interviews.

Requirements:

You simply need a computer with microphone and web cam, alternatively an appropriate smartphone/tablet. You can usually also use headphones with an integrated microphone. It is important to have a fast and stable Internet connection. Should you have technical issues for whatever reason, you will also receive a dial-in phone number in addition to the dial-in link.
