How I came to work at Volkswagen:
I have been fascinated by cars for years and by Volkswagen’s commercials, such as “The Force”, which are always really innovative and amusing. My first work experience was as a production assistant in vehicle production when I was still a student. During my next practical semester at the Autostadt, I was responsible for producing the daily newsletter and for social media activities in addition to other duties. I really enjoyed this area of responsibility, which is why I wanted to consolidate the theoretical knowledge from my media management studies in the area of communication. So I applied for an internship in the Volkswagen Brand Pilot Hall for this reason. They were looking for an intern in corporate communication to support the ongoing transformation process.
Brief overview of my work:
The Volkswagen Brand Pilot Hall acts as the link between development, quality assurance and production as well as the global sites and plants. Since it bears responsibility in this context for sharing knowledge on start-up processes and standardisation of proven methods, communication plays an important role in the unit. One of my main tasks is therefore to editorially prepare articles and draft the different newsletters. Other activities within my remit include submitting social media topics via Group Connect as well as planning and organising internal events, such as the “World Café”.
My best moment at Volkswagen was …
… when I got to take part in the “World Café” internal event last year. The workshop was attended by around 280 employees from the Volkswagen Brand Pilot Hall, who were able to share ideas and knowledge on the transformation processes at the 17 different stations. Looking back, the event was a great success. We were able to bring the entire team together and achieve great results through the professional exchanges and thus collaborate constructively on future topics involving the Volkswagen Brand Pilot Hall.
Volkswagen is the right employer for me because …
… on one hand it offers me excellent professional and career opportunities and, on the other hand, allows me to also work at one of the many international sites. In particular, the global orientation of the Volkswagen Brand Pilot Hall provides me with rich intercultural experience. For me, this makes Volkswagen AG the most attractive employer in the automotive sector.
For me, the mobility of the future means …
… delivering sustainable concepts, in other words combining electric mobility, autonomous driving and digitalisation, for example through app-based car sharing. Volkswagen's electrification drive will contribute decisively to the mobility of the future.
My application tips are …
… that individuality plays an essential role when submitting an application. For example, the cover letter should address its audience purposefully and should be laid out attractively. So far I have found that this works really well and allows me to stand out from the crowd.
