Woman DrivING Award. The competition for female engineers. As a global player in the automotive field, Volkswagen plays a decisive role in the field of technological development. There is rarely a technical innovation from Volkswagen which does not involve female engineers in its development.
  • The Woman DrivING Award was developed with the intention to support women studying or conducting research in the areas of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automotive or electronic engineering. The aim of the award is to encourage female engineers to exploit their passion for technology and to participate in developing the car for tomorrow. Every two years, Volkswagen selects outstanding dissertations, final papers or semester work and gives committed students or graduates the chance to apply themselves to the challenge of advanced technology with the Woman DrivING Award.

    The prizes

The finalists present their work to a panel of renowned judges and win money prizes totalling to over €10,000, as well as intensive driving safety training on the Volkswagen safety course.

The travel and accommodation costs will, naturally, be assumed by us.

With the Woman DrivING Award Volkswagen offers you the unique possibility to demonstrate your ability. Qualified female students and graduates in the fields of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automotive or electronic engineering can apply with their tri-partite summary of dissertation, final paper or semester work. The paper should focus on a car-related topic and must have been performed within the last two years.
